12:00 a.m. UPDATE: Evacuations have been reduced to only the surrounding houses, according to Hollister police.

The house in question has been red-tagged, so no one is allowed inside the residence. Police say nobody has been arrested. Right now, police say laboratory chemicals were found inside the house, but they wouldn’t elaborate on what kind of chemicals they’re working with.

Police say the hazmat team has yet to arrive, but is expected to get there sometime Tuesday.

ATF is also supposed to investigate the scene Tuesday.

American Red Cross arrived just after midnight to help the residents who were evacuated.

The Hollister Police Department is investigating hazardous materials inside a home on the 2300 block of Glenview Drive.

The Monterey County bomb squad was called to the scene and a hazardous materials team is now being called to help.

Code enforcement says there are multiple laboratory chemicals inside the house.

About 20 homes have been evacuated and the Red Cross is headed to the area to work with those displaced.

According to police, officers responded to the home around 6:00 p.m. for a possible burglary. When they arrived, they found the hazardous materials inside.
