3.0 earthquake hits south San Benito County

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Paicines in San Benito County Thursday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, it occurred at 3:11 a.m.

Bob Barminski, a geologist at Hartnell College, said this is a typical earthquake size for the San Andreas Fault. He added that it is not an indicator that something bigger is on the horizon.
