Early morning accident backs up commute near Aromas

CHP and emergency crews responded to Highway 129 and Rogge Lane near Aromas for a call of a solo vehicle that had hit a power pole.

Officers closed Highway 129 at Quarry Road and Rogge Lane for about 2 hours as PG&E were called to the scene.

The woman driving the car was the only involved in the accident and told officers she was drowsy when she ran off Highway 129 and hit a pole that was supporting a power pole.

Power was never actually out, but PG&E had to clear the pole out of the highway that was sheared off.

There were no injuries. Morning commute traffic using 129 to get to Highway 101 or Highway 1 was backed up for miles in either direction.
