King City native Marc Flores drafted by Chicago White Sox

Councilmembers in King City on Tuesday presented a special proclamation to Ralph and Joy Flores, on behalf of their son, who was drafted by the Chicago White Sox earlier this month.

Marc Flores was born and raised in King City where he played baseball in Little League and at King City High School. He later attended Hartnell College and the University of Hawaii, where he graduated this year with a degree in sociology.

The Chicago White Sox selected the first baseman in their 30th round of the 40-round Major League Baseball draft on June 7.
