Police collect evidence in Watsonville drive-by

Watsonville police were called to the area of Roache Road around 10:00 pm Saturday night, to a report of a drive-by shooting.

Officers found a victim, who was a known gang member, with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

He was uncooperative and hostile with officers. He was flown to a Bay Area trauma center.

Many witnesses have come forward and given information to officers. Evidence was also gathered at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a black compact 4 door sedan on Roache Road, driving towards Freedom Boulevard. It appears the right front passenger was the shooter.
