Monterey-Salinas Transit board of directors elect new chair, vice chair

The Monterey-Salinas Transit board of directors elected Monterey city councilmember Libby Downey as chair and Salinas city councilmember Tony Barrera as vice chair.

Downey has served on the board since 2005; Barrera joined in 2013. Former board chair and Gonzales Mayor Maria Orozco remains on the board.

The board of directors is comprised of one representative from Monterey County plus one representative from each of the 12 cities MST serves. That includes Carmel-By-The Sea, Del Rey Oaks, Gonzales, Greenfield, King City, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Salinas, Sand City, Seaside and Soledad.
