Authorities destory four large scale illegal marijuana grows

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said its marijuana eradication team along with the United States Forest Service and Department of Fish & Wildlife helped take down four large scale illegal marijuana cultivation sites, located within the wilderness of Los Padres National Forest.

With the assistance of a United States Forest Service helicopter last week, more than 1,500 pounds of trash was removed during the bust. The trash included irrigation tubing, fertilizers, various poisons, and propane canisters.

Law enforcement also confiscated 27,819 marijuana plants.

Any information about ongoing narcotics activity can be reported anonymously via the Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 1-888-833-4847
