Attempted homicide investigation in Salinas

Salinas police are investigating an attempted homicide in the area of Acosta Plaza Friday night.

Police say when they arrived they found 33-year-old Aberlardo Rodriguez in a car with multiple gunshot wounds.

Rodriguez was life flighted in critical condition to a Bay Area hospital.

This is the second shooting in the Acosta Plaza area within a 24 hour span.

The first shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

Officers say when they arrived on the scene they found 25-year-old Arthur Bravo dead from a single gunshot wound.

The victim had reportedly been seen loitering around the area prior to being found.

Police say they contacted several people, but none of them could say when the shooting may have occurred because of numerous reports of fireworks throughout the evening.
