Applicants sought for Scotts Valley Police Explorer Post

The Scotts Valley Police Department is seeking applicants for the newly created Police Explorer position.

Police Explorers, also known as Law Enforcement Exploring, is a career-oriented program that gives young adults the opportunity to explore a career in law
enforcement by volunteering their time at local law enforcement agencies.

The national Exploring programs are a non-scouting subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America. It’s typically open to youth ages 14 through 20.

Scotts Valley Police Explorers will perform a variety of community services, such as crowd/traffic control at parades, festivals, and special events. Occasionally, they could be called out to assist police officers in emergency situations, such as searching for missing children.
