Crews Respond to Report of Oil Spill in Monterey Harbor

Crews responded to a report of an oil spill in the Monterey Harbor, said a Coast Guard representative.

When crews arrived to check out what had happened the discovered that it was only anchovie oil in the water.

The Coast Guard said that the oil was probably from a fishing boat that had washed it’s deck. The oil sheen was about 300 yards wide.

Apparently someone had seen the sheen in the water and thought it was motor oil.
