Golden State Theatre Fundraiser Brings in $8,000
A fundraiser on Saturday night raised $8,000 for the Golden State Theater in Monterey.
Monterey Councilmember Libby Downey says that there were around 500 people there and it was quite a success.
Most of the money raised will go towards a restoration fund for the historic theater. The Monterey Institute of International Studies will be putting together a business plan on how the renovated theater would operate.
