Family Of Marina Mother Who Vanished Asking For Public’s Help
Searches on Wednesday did not turn up with a Marina mother who vanished without a trace five days ago.
The California Highway Patrol flew over the entire city looking for 29-year-old Carie Leetch, who also goes by Carie Munoz and Lulu.
Her family said Wednesday she was the life of the family. They’re praying she is found safe.
“I wake up with anxiety. I can’t go to sleep. I feel like I should just be out there looking for her all the time,” said Katie Solis, Leetch’s sister.
When Central Coast News sat down with Solis, she couldn’t keep it together. Tears streaming down her face, she still can’t believe no one can find her little sister. It’s been five, long agonizing days.
“Me and her are only a year and a half apart, so we grew up together. I just seen her a couple of weeks ago. My daughter stayed the night with her. They made meat loaf together,” she said.
Leetch disappeared Friday morning. Her husband reported her missing after he came back to their Marina home from an appointment and she was gone.
“This happens to other families,” said Jolie Munoz, Leetch’s sister. “You watch this stuff on the news. It doesn’t happen in your own family. It’s just bizarre. We miss her.”
What’s bizarre is Leetch left everything behind, including her cellphone. She is not known to have any medical conditions that would cause her to be confused, but her husband said she had the flu.
She had no contact with anyone, including her 10-year-old daughter, who was her pride and joy.
“That’s her best friend. She would not leave her daughter,” Munoz said.
Her sisters held up her picture, pleading with anyone who may know something, anything.
“She’s very loved and missed, that she’s OK, please. Please just bring her back to us. We’re not going stop until we find her,” Solis said.
Marina police said Leetch had issues within the community, but don’t know if that played a role in her disappearance.
Family and friends will be out searching the woods in Marina on Saturday for Leetch. They encourage anyone who can help to join them. They will meet at 9 a.m. at the Ord Market, at 2700 Imjin Parkway.
