Teacher and Student Robbed and Attacked at Salinas High School

A Salinas High School teacher and student were robbed by three men Wednesday night, according to police.

It happened just before 10 p.m., as the teacher and student were closing up the observatory on campus. Police say three Hispanic males demanded the student’s cellphone and watch. They then grabbed a laptop from the teacher’s hands.

Police say the teacher initially fought back, but the thieves kicked and hit him several times before running away.

The teacher suffered several cuts to his face but declined medical attention. The student was not injured.
