Aromas Man, 68, Dies In Car Crash Near Hollister

A 68-year-old Aromas man is dead after a car crash on Highway 156 on Saturday.

The accident occurred on Merrill Road in the Hollister/Gilroy area. The California Highway Patrol said the car the victim was driving ran off the shoulder of the highway, then went down a steep dirt embankment before rolling over about two times.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No word if alcohol or drugs played roles in the crash.

CHP said the man was reported missing on Wednesday. The man’s identity is not being released until his family has been notified.
