Police: Marina Man Found with Loaded Firearm, Violates Probation

A man is behind bars accused of being in possession of a loaded firearm and violating probation.

Police say they spotted 18-year old Jeffrey Chambers wearing dark clothing on the 290 block of Carmel Avenue Monday morning. When officers tried to contact Chambers, they say he tried to avoid them. Police later detained him in a nearby apartment complex. He was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and was arrested without incident.

Chambers was booked into the Monterey County jail. Marina police are reminding all residents of Marina to lock their vehicles when left unattended and not leave any valuable items in their vehicles.
