Seaside home destroyed in Friday fire
A Seaside home was destroyed after a fire sparked in the laundry room Friday, according to the Seaside Fire Department.
The house is on the 1200 block of Hamilton Avenue, and the fire started at around 4:30 p.m.
Seaside Fire tells KION that a woman in the home said she was doing laundry when she heard a “pop” near the dryer. She then immediately saw a fire. No one was injured, SFD says.
PG&E was called to the scene because of a gas leak. SFD says the cause of the fire is not yet known.
The damage to the house was “extensive” and it will have to be torn down.
