More vehicles hit by flying objects on Highway 101 and 156 in the Prunedale area

The California Highway Patrol is investigating more cases of projectiles hitting vehicles on Highway 101 in the Prunedale area.

According to the CHP, there were 8 to 9 incidents within 30 minutes Wednesday night.

The first was reported at 7:24 p.m. and all of them happened between Dunbarton Road and Highway 156.

The CHP said vehicles were left with broken windows and one woman was cut by glass. No one else was hurt.

Officers are working with locals following up on tips. Investigators made two arrests for similar circumstances in Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties, but later determined those individuals weren’t responsible for the cases in Monterey County.

Investigators don’t know exactly what the projectiles are, what is being used to shoot them or if those responsible or stationary or moving.

The CHP is asking people to remain vigilant and call them if they have any information.

Those responsible could face felony charges.

There have been dozens of similar cases of flying objects hitting vehicles since January.
