NEW YORK CITY (CNN) — American and Canadian investigators have launched an investigation at New York’s LaGuardia Airport after an Air Canada plane collided with a firetruck just after landing Sunday night.
The pilot and copilot were killed, while dozens of plane passengers and two people in the truck were injured, according to law enforcement officials.
CNN is piecing together what happened during the deadly collision in a timeline, maps and photos.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation into the crash, with the Federal Aviation Administration and Canada’s Transportation Safety Board also joining the investigation.
The airport reopened on Monday at 2 p.m. ET after a ground stop had been issued following the crash. Runway 4 will remain closed until at least Friday morning, according to a public notice from the FAA.
