Expect Light Rain This Week & Lower Temps

I am watching the smoke from the fires burning to our east. It is possible that we may see some elevated smoke over the next day or so. Not expected to degrade air quality according to the latest forecast but the smoke may get close and bears watching.  I am expecting onshore ( westerly winds) through the forecast period that will push most of the smoke off to the east.

We are in a gradual cooling trend today throughout the rest of the week.  Temperatures are lower than average for this time of year. We could see light rain Monday through Wednesday.

This Morning: Low clouds will spread down the valley and patchy fog with some mist around the bay.. Coastal areas will stay in the 50's and 60's , while inland valleys will be in the 60's and 70's. Breezy conditions in the Salinas Valley.

This Afternoon : Low clouds to start with afternoon clearing. Temps in the 60's and 70's by the bay and 70' to middle 80's for the valleys and hills. Clear skies inland but overcast on some parts on the coast.
