Labor Day Dangerous Ocean Conditions

Air Quality: GOOD

OVERVIEW: We are experiencing strong waves dangerous ocean conditions due to large powerful waves generated from the South. Rip tides and sneaker waves can cause inexperienced surfer or swimmers to get pulled away from the shore. Instead of fighting the current, officials advise swimming parallel to the shore to escape it, then heading back to safety once you're free of its pull. It is best to stay out of the ocean until tomorrow, for safety purposes.

Today: Coastal areas will be warm in the upper 70's to 80's, while inland valleys will be hot in the 80s to low 100's. Winds may become breezy in the late afternoon, with typical breezy conditions through mountain passes and valleys. Elevated Fire weather concerns across the interior.

Tonight: This evening along the Central Coast, expect mostly clear skies with mild temps in the 60's to low 70's.  Temperatures cool to mid 50's overnight with low clouds redeveloping. Winds will be light overall. Clear skies ahead. Temperatures will cool down tomorrow.
