Seasonable to Cool Wednesday
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Seasonable to slightly cool temperatures will persist into Wednesday. A cut off area of low pressure to our south will slowly move to the east and away from us, only to be replaced by overall troughing over the Western U.S through mid-week. The result will be slightly cool temperatures and a deeper marine layer and associated clouds
Air Quality: Good to Moderate
 Â
Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy on the coast with low clouds more persistent than recent days. Coastal highs in the 60s. Inland areas will clear out with the possibility of a few cumulus clouds over the mountains. Inland highs in the mid-70s to low 90s. Breezy west-southwesterly onshore winds becoming windy up valleys late in the day.
Overnight: Low clouds will begin to push inland this evening. Becoming partly to mostly cloudy. Far interior locations will remain mostly clear. Lows mainly in the 50s, with 40s for sheltered valleys. Fog in the hills by morning, along with patchy, light drizzle possible. Better chance of moisture on the north/east side of the bay.
Â
Thursday: Low clouds for the coast and valleys early. Then, clouds clear back to the coast but hang around coastal cities for most of the day. Coastal temps in the upper 50s to upper 60s. Inland areas clear out once again with highs in the low 70s to around 90ºF. Gusty southwesterly onshore winds on the exposed coast and up into the valleys late. Â
Extended: We’ll warm up a little bit into Friday and Saturday as high pressure exerts some control over us from the north. Still, low clouds will remain on the coast. A weak, but warmer low will cut off from the flow and hang around us through the weekend all while the ridge is centered over the inland Pacific Northwest. Temperatures should be slightly warm for this time of year, but if these features wobble at all, things could change. Â
