CBS golf prepares for a Masters “unlike any other”
AUGUSTA, Ga. (KION) The Masters will be played at Augusta National in the fall for the first time in the tournament's 84 year history. The typical blossoming azaleas in spring will instead be replaced by the brisk autumn air.
CBS has televised The Masters since 1956. This year, due to COVID-19, there will be no patrons in attendance. The CBS golf team says they will be trying new unique camera angles since there are no fans and grandstands. Drones will be used, and on the iconic 16th hole a “skycam” will be featured giving an all-new vantage point.
Jim Nantz and Sir. Nick Faldo will be in the 18th tower as the lead golf commentators for CBS. Nantz is covering his 35th Masters tournament.
Tiger Woods is looking to defend his Major Championship at Augusta National after he slid on the Green Jacket for the fifth time in 2019.
The Masters schedule on KION:
Saturday, Nov. 14: 1-5 p.m. on CBS
Sunday, Nov. 15: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on CBS
