Pfeiffer Falls Trail reopens in Big Sur

BIG SUR, Calif. (KION-TV) - A scenic trail in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is now back open after being damaged by winter storms more than two years ago.

A massive redwood fell on the pedestrian bridge on the Pfeiffer Falls Trail back in January 2023.

State Parks says the bridge has now been rebuilt, allowing the trail to reopen to the public.

They added crews salvaged most of the original bridge, replacing only 15 of the total 70 feet with new material.
