VALKYRIES ELIMINATED: Minnesota stuns Golden State 75-74 to advance to semifinals

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KION) - The Golden State Valkyries saw their inaugural season come to a close in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs. Despite leading for a majority of the game, a late surge from Minnesota helped the Lynx to escape with a 75-74 win.
In front of a sellout crowd at the SAP Center in San Jose, Monique Billings led the charge for Golden State, finishing with a team-high 15 points off the bench.
Cecilia Zandalasini and Janelle Salaun each dropped 14 points apiece as the Valkyries kept the Lynx at bay for most of three quarters.
But Minnesota closed out the game strong, outscoring Golden State 26-11 in the final frame. Napheesa Collier led the comeback with a game-high 24 points.
The Lynx will now face the winner of the Mercury-Liberty series.
