Monterey County supervisors vote to support Prop 50 redistricting

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) - Monterey County supervisors voted at their meeting today to officially support Proposition 50.

A special election happening in November will determine whether new congressional districts will be drawn to give democrats the edge in five House seats.

While the vote was unanimous except for one abstention, supervisors say it's easy to be torn on whether to support the measure.

Supervisors say that the biggest factor in their support comes from other states such as Texas, where the redistricting showdown began.
