Woman shot in foot after accidental shooting from underage suspect

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) - An underage suspect is facing charges for what is being called an accidental shooting on the city's north side Monday night.

According to Salinas Police, one woman was shot in the foot around 10 p.m. on the 1000 block of Declaration Street.

A personally manufactured gun was found during a search of the home, along with a spent shell casing.

The unregistered gun was found to belong to the suspect. She was arrested for weapons violations.
