HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) - The city of Hollister announced on Monday that its manager, David Mirrione, will be stepping down on September 21st, 2025. The city says that Mirrione has accepted a position with another public agency.

Mirrione grew up in Hollister before he started his administrative career, eventually coming back to Hollister as an assistant City Manager in 2022, before being promoted to City Manager in 2023.

His tenure saw highs of the returning July 4th Bike Rally and lows of financial uncertainties and the loss of the city's joint fire services contract with the county of San Benito and San Juan Bautista.

Back in May, Mirrione was met with a vote of no confidence by the Hollister Fire Fighters Association in the wake of fire services contract negotiations.

The Association accused Mirrione of fiscal mismanagement and a lack of public transparency, while also saying the failure to negotiate a new fire services contract jeopardizes public safety.
