New Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Service Center coming to Davenport

DAVENPORT, Calif. (KION-TV) - A new Sheriff's Service Center will open in the city of Davenport as a substation for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors approved the creation of the substation during their Tuesday board meeting. This comes after the opening of the Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument.

The substation will be located at 450 Highway 1 to provide a visible and accessible space for locals, visitors, and other law enforcement.

The location will handle public safety inquiries, crime reporting, and community engagement.

Santa Cruz County Parks will also be a part of the location as part of larger community investments, such as the completion of the North Coast stretch of the Rail Trail.

"By colocating with County Parks, we are creating longterm efficiencies while ensuring residents and visitors alike have access to the services they need," Supervisor Justin Cummings said.
