Gilroy Gardens releases its first community impact report

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) - Gilroy Gardens is releasing an annual impact report detailing the theme park's contributions to the community for the first time.

According to the report, in 2024, the park hosted 460,000 visitors and generated over $2 million for the local economy.

It states 93 percent of visitors came from outside Gilroy, with the park contributing over $50 million in economic impact to the region since it opened in 2001.

The park also provided 600 jobs to youth last year and has hired more than 14,000 youth over the years.

The report also says nearly 36-hundred students participated in Natural Science Day last year.

That brings the total to over 25-thousand students since the park opened. And since 2012, the park's Gilroy Reads literacy program has given over 8,400 free tickets to children who complete reading challenges.
