Murray Street Bridge pile driving schedule announced

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV) - As the City of Santa Cruz continues work on their Murray Street Bridge project, a pile driving schedule has been announced.

The first round of pile driving is scheduled for today until October 2025. A second round of pile driving is scheduled to take place from June 15, 2026, through October 2026.

The process of pile driving involves driving long steel tubes called piles into the bedrock beneath the harbor. This will be the framework to set a strong foundation for the bridge. A crane-mounted hammer is
