Stabbing suspect arrested after pursuit in Capitola

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) - A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a victim on 41st Avenue in Capitola Sunday evening.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, reports came in of a victim, a man in his late 30s, with multiple wounds on the 1700 block of 41st Avenue.

The suspect was identified as a man in his late 20s, who was found with a knife still in hand during a standoff. The suspect then headed off in a car, leading police on a pursuit onto northbound Highway 17 with California Highway Patrol responding.

The pursuit came to a close on Idlywild Road. Officers found out that the suspect had also been involved in a crash south of Bear Creek Road in Santa Clara County.

The victim in that incident was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, with their condition unknown at this time.
