Watsonville Police seized 3K lbs of fireworks during the 4th of July holiday

WATSONVILLE, Calif. (KION-TV) - Watsonville Police provided an update on their 4th of July enforcement efforts.

The department says nearly 3,000 pounds of fireworks were seized and will be sent to state fire partners for safe disposal.

Their Fireworks Investigation unit served 11 search warrants in and around the city, leading to gun and drug seizures as well.

36 citations were issued with Watsonville Fire responding to multiple incidents.

Fortunately, all fires were quickly put out.
