Man arrested for burglary crime spree across Capitola

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION-TV) - An arrest has been made in connection with a spree of burglaries in the Depot Hill and Riverview Drive neighborhoods of Capitola.

According to the Capitola Police Department, detectives arrested the 42-year-old suspect on possession of stolen property.

Detectives found that the suspect, who has yet to be identified, rode a stolen motorcycle into these neighborhoods, burglarizing homes and trying to steal vehicles from said homes in the process.

After using surveillance footage and obtaining an arrest warrant, the suspect was found riding the stolen motorcycle. After being spotted, the suspect left the bike and started a short foot chase before being arrested.

Capitola Police worked alongside the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol during their investigation.
