Salinas Police welcomes new Assistant Police Chief

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - A new assistant police chief has been announced for the Salinas Police Department, who may be a familiar face.

Commander Luis Bravo has been appointed to the new role.

Bravo has been serving with the Salinas Police Department for the last 25 years, beginning his career as a reserve officer with the Gonzales Police in 1994.

Commander Bravo has also served with the Salinas Police's SWAT, Violence Suppression Task Force while overseeing the Hostage Negotiations Team and drone unit program.
