Lottery system proposed for cannabis dispensary in Pacific Grove

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KION-TV) - Three years after voters approved Measures M and N, the city of Pacific Grove may be one step closer to getting a marijuana dispensary.

A proposal going before the city council says the retail license could be awarded via a lottery system.

Applications would be accepted for 30 days, with the city manager authorized to extend the submission window.

Applicants who meet all the criteria will have their plans evaluated and entered into the lottery, which will be conducted by random drawing open to the public.
