Gonzales making strides in banning the sale of flavored tobacco

GONZALES, Calif. (KION-TV) - The city of Gonzales could take steps to ban the sale of flavored tobacco products.

The proposed ordinance would also apply to single-use electronic smoking devices.

A city report states that an ordinance would protect children from being lured into illegal activity through the misconduct of adults.

It also indicates the ordinance would not negatively impact retailers who are legally selling cigarettes and other tobacco products.

Adopting the new rules would also put the city one step closer to becoming Blue Zone-certified, which would support the community's quality of life.
