Seaside woman injured in MCSO deputy-involved crash in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - A woman from Seaside was injured after a deputy-involved crash earlier this morning in Salinas.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10 a.m. when a Monterey County Sheriff's Office patrol car was driving southbound with its emergency lights on Blanco Road. Two deputies were in the vehicle at the time.

At that same time, a 55-year-old woman from Seaside was driving eastbound on Davis.

Both cars collided in the intersection, with the driver of the Audi then crashing into a pole nearby.

While both deputies got out, the deputy driving was transferred to a hospital, with the woman also transported as a precaution.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
