Suspect in Santa Cruz Mountains double homicide entering plea deal next Friday
LOS GATOS, Calif. (KION) - The suspect in a double murder out of the Santa Cruz Mountains in late March is expected to enter a plea deal later this month.
Court records show James Collier is expected to have the hearing for the deal in Santa Clara County on May 23.
Collier is accused of shooting Colter White and Sean Pfeffer of Boulder Creek and leaving their bodies in an abandoned pickup truck near Los Gatos in March.
Court records indicate Collier had been in a recent escalating conflict over rent with at least one of the men.
Before the death of the two men, Pfeffer posted on his Facebook stating “If today isn't work out know that it was James Collier the piece of crap that I invited to this mountain that still hasn't left it and is working the f* out of my f**** cousin."
Collier was taken into custody on two counts of murder.
