More than 25 stolen bikes recovered in Capitola encampment arrests

CAPITOLA, Calif. (KION) -- Two people were arrested after police officers found more than 25 suspected stolen bicycles on Thursday.

According to Capitol Police, officers approached an encampment near 41st Avenue and Highway 1 and began to detain suspects for trespassing and camping in closed areas.

While at the encampment, officers discovered more than 25 stolen bicycles among other items stolen.

While two people were arrested for warrants, trespassing, and drug charges, three were issued warnings.
