Potential serial child predator arrested in Soledad

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION) - A King City man has been arrested for contacting minors in an attempt to start sexual relationships.

According to Soledad Police, 33-year-old Rutilio Calihua Quiahua was arrested when re-entering the California border. The police had identified five victims whom Quiahua had contacted through social media.

Quiahua is believed to have targeted people within the community of Oaxaca and detectives hope that those who had contact with Quiahua can come forward.

Detectives also state that Quiahua may have used the aliases of Javier Hernandez, Javier Martínez, Jaime Hernandez or Jaime Martinez to make contact with his victims.

Detectives from Soledad worked with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office to extradite Quiahua to Monterey County to be arrested on multiple charges, including sexual offenses for minors under the age of 16.
