Pacific Grove harbor seal pupping season begins

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Harbor seals are being protected as they begin their pupping season in Pacific Grove.

Temporary fencing along the recreation trail from 2nd Street to Berwick Park has been installed.

Between April and June, harbor seals come to the shore to birth their new pups and call their Central Coast their home.

Public Works installed signs on the fence saying "Quiet Please" so passersby do not disturb the seals.
