Yorkie lost in Santa Cruz County reunites with SoCal family

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A Yorkie has been reunited with his family from Southern California after being lost in Santa Cruz County for the last four months.

Ziggy was with his family as they visited the area when he got away and became lost.

Recently, Ziggy was taken into the care of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter.

That's when the family got wind of a dog matching Ziggy's description being taken in.

The family has since been reunited with Ziggy and making his way back to Southern California.

The animal shelter reminds pet owners to check local shelters and social media whenever their pet goes missing and to post virtual and physical "lost pet" flyers.

They also add that owners should get pets microchipped and putting IDs on their collars with contact information can also help reunite lost friends.
