Attic, kitchen catch fire at home in Pacific Grove Sunday afternoon

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A home caught fire on Sunday afternoon on Eardley and Lighthouse Avenues in Pacific Grove.

According to Monterey Fire, fire was reported around 2:08 p.m. with crews arriving to find a single-story home with grey smoke escaping from the vents.

Fortunately, no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

The fire had spread through the attic before spreading to the kitchen.

It was contained in a room adjacent to the main part of the home and extinguished in 30 minutes.

Pacific Grove Police Department and Monterey Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) assisted in traffic control and aided firefighters on the scene.
