Carmel Unified School District announces school closures

CARMEL, Calif. (KION) -- Five Carmel Unified School District schools are closed today due to power outages and unsafe road conditions.

In an email sent to staff and families, the CUSD has decided to close the following school citing power outages and unsafe road conditions.

This includes:

  • Captain Cooper Elementary
  • Apple Pie Pre-School
  • Carmelo Child Development Center
  • Carmel Middle School
  • Carmel Valley High School

CUSD's February break begins on February 14 with schools not reopening until February 25.
