3 people treated in chemical leak incident in Gilroy

GILROY, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Three people were treated for potential exposure after a chemical leak in south Gilroy on Wednesday morning.

According to CAL Fire Santa Clara Unit, firefighters arrived at the train tracks near Carnadero Avenue and Bolsa Road to investigate the possible leak at 11:15 a.m. Gilroy Fire, Hollister Fire and Santa Clara Fire Department helped to assess the situation.

Three people were found down from the train tracks near Highway 25 in Hollister. They were then decontaminated and treated at a nearby hospital.

Hazmat crews were on sight searching for leaks along the train car. All hazards were taken care of.
