Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation Defensible Space Grants

The Monterey firefighters community foundation is now accepting applications for its defensive space grant program helping people create defensible space on their property.

It's all in partnership with PM landscaping, the foundation is funding safety improvements for seniors, veterans, disabled individuals, and low income households. Applicants must live in the response area of the Monterey Fire Department, and have Monterey Fire Department inspectors identify defensible space violations on the property.

Anyone selected for the grant will have improvements done by PM landscaping, and the foundation reminds people that each property can only get one grant per year.

Those who do not qualify for the grant are encouraged to follow CALFIRE guidelines to protect your home.
