LAX security guard allegedly caught with 24 pounds of fentanyl in airport bathroom

A security guard at LAX faces a federal charge after he was allegedly caught with 24 pounds of fentanyl in an airport bathroom.
Miguel Angel Tuz-Noh, 24, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The Department of Justice also charged Los Angeles County resident Anthony Olvera, 23, with the same felony. They face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum of life in prison.
Federal prosecutors said the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Los Angeles Airport Police carried out the investigation into the duo. Investigators said they watched Tuz-Noh and Olvera attempt to exchange the drugs in a men’s bathroom in Terminal 6 on Aug. 19.
In the criminal complaint, investigators noted that the restroom was “known for drug trafficking.”
Officers detained the two men after they left the bathroom. Investigators seized Olvera’s duffle bag and found 10 “brick-type packages” filled with roughly 11 kilograms, or 24.3 pounds, of fentanyl inside.
Police said Olvera allegedly agreed to fly with the illicit drugs to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
DEA agents said they believed Tuz-Noh had ties to a larger drug-trafficking organization and helped smuggle more than 100 kilograms through LAX since October 2025.
