Fight near Concord elementary school ends with 1 dead

Concord police said a physical altercation involving several adults, near an elementary school, ended with a man dying Wednesday evening.

Around 5:20 p.m., officers were called to the front parking lot of Sun Terrace Elementary School for a report of a physical altercation involving several adults, police said. When they arrived, officers found a man unresponsive on the ground. 

He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

Investigators have identified the people who were present during the physical altercation, and said they were cooperating. Officers are not looking for any outstanding suspects, police said.

“CPD is investigating all facts and circumstances related to the incident, to include what may have contributed to the man’s death,” police said.
