Richmond police investigating after person found injured near Hilltop Plaza dies

Richmond police said they are investigating a homicide that happened Monday afternoon at a Hilltop Plaza business.

On Tuesday, police released more information and said that, around 1:43 p.m. Monday, workers at a business on the 3400 block of Klose Way called police to report they found their coworker, who had been alone, unconscious, and that they appeared to have a head injury.

Emergency crews arrived and began life-saving efforts, but the person died at the scene. 

According to police, the person’s injury did not look accidental and appeared to be a gunshot wound. 

Homicide detectives were then called and are now investigating.
