Monterey County approves revised Cannabis Strategic Plan

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) -- The latest revision to the Cannabis Strategic Plan has been approved by the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors. The Cannabis Program will follow the new plan while retaining the same goals.

The latest revisions of the the plan include input from seven county departments, fire districts, and industry stakeholders. The original strategic plan was written in 2018 with the need to update the goals every two years.

One of the goals currently is to help those with provisional permits for cannabis transition into annual permits. As of this year, California's Department of Cannabis Control will no longer renew provisional ballots.
